How long will a power station run Wi-Fi (modem and router)?
A 1,000Wh power station runs Wi-Fi (modem and router) on its own for about 27 to 38 hours, and a 2,000Wh one for about 2 to 3 days.

Runtime: capacity × 90% usable × 85% inverter efficiency ÷ (the appliance's average draw + about 10W the station uses itself), a range from the low and high average draw. "Runs it?" checks the station's output against 10–18W running, the cautious figures from generator makers' and DTE Energy's charts. Many modern appliances start with less, so "Check" means read your appliance's label (amps × 120 = watts). Plan on the low end of every runtime.
Where the figures come from
Netgear's 2025 energy disclosure puts its cable modem routers at 10.6 to 18.1 watts idle; a separate cable modem is 7.2 to 9.0 watts and a Wi-Fi router about 5 to 8 watts. In use they draw a little more. A battery backup for Wi-Fi keeps them going on its own.

How long will a 1,000Wh power station run Wi-Fi (modem and router)?
About 27 to 38 hours, running nothing else, on the figures behind this page. Plan on the low end.
What size power station do I need for Wi-Fi (modem and router)?
For 12 hours, about 377Wh, or 440Wh for an older or larger one, with at least 18W of output.
Can a power station run Wi-Fi (modem and router) in an outage?
Yes, if its output covers about 18W. A power station is safe to run indoors, unlike a generator.
